Cure for woman's scorpion sting costs $83K

(CBS/AP) PHOENIX – An Arizona lady is wondering what harm more: removing stung by a scorpion or saying her sanatorium check after treatment.

Marcie Edmonds says a check from Chandler Regional Medical Center was some-more than $83,000. That includes dual doses of anti-venom during scarcely $40,000 per dose.

The Arizona Republic says Edmonds’ insurer has paid some-more than $57,000 and a suburban Phoenix sanatorium is seeking Edmonds for a change of about $25,000.

The 52-year-old Ahwatukee Foothills proprietor was stung in Jun while opening a box of atmosphere conditioner filters in her garage.

Edmonds says an puncture room alloy told her about a Mexican anti-venom Anascorp that could fast soothe her symptoms, though she was never told about a cost.
